It's  ²  °  Û   a limited piece of hardware designed for people to write demos. Seeing  Û  Þ  ß   that demo parties were huge in Europe, but not so popular in the United Þ  Ü     ß States, he teamed up with Davo to bring the demoparty experience to Los    ß  ß   Angeles' LayerOne information security conference. Last year, I was    °  ß  ² brought in to add a textmode element to the competition with a 23 line,    Þ   Ý   80 column, classic 16 color ANSI restriction for the entries.  ²  Û° °±  ²°° Ü    This year, the competition featured 36 entries submitted across all       categories. These amazing works of art were from creators who hadn't          touched ANSI in over two decades and LayerOne demo party veterans. We          had entries from all over the world in a stunning showcase of talent. Ý   ß   This year, we added a guest judge - Smooth From Fuel and Araknet.    ²  ß Ý  ßÛÞ Sometimes there is an entry that stands out from the rest in it's  Û  ² ß  Û  aesthetics, humor, and ingenuity. We're awarding a "Judge's Choice"   ²    award to Burps[Fuel]'s entry "You've been..." for rickrolling        everyone with his ANSImation. His entry followed all the rules, but     Ý   threw us off when it came time to judge it. Because it was so unique,    ²   it was moved to the WILDCARD category. We regret this change since as ß   Ûß   LayerOne is a hacker con, rickrolling via an ANSImation shows true  Û   °°Û   hacker spirit and out-of-the-box thinking (especially in bending the °±±ß   ß   rules). Üß   Û ß  Û ²  °ß    Þ Everyone sent in really amazing pieces; it was exceptionally hard       to select winners. For the 23 line ANSI category, the winners are       "How it all began" by The Knight[Fuel], "Mousehunter" by        Whazzit[Blocktronics], and "Glow" by Necro[Fuel]. In the wildcard   ÛÜ   ± category, we have Burps[Fuel]'s "You've been...", "Malcus" by The  ß  ² Û   Knight[Fuel], and "Swansi" by Shapes.   Þ   ß Ý  ß     The Demo Board winners were "Exploration" by [MFP], "Overwritten"       by sickpea, and "iximeow's sick kickflips" by ixi meow.
