I have realized that was very worthless trying to keep Prana!Ascii al- ive. It is because I've never received help with the releases from the other members... so that's why in the previous pack I've released the Application Form. It happened that I've decided to open Prana to others to finish its phase of "invite-only" status. *But* thin- king over it I finish having the certainty that for doing something like that there's the need of founding a new group and begin anew... I can't open to everybo- dy an elite clique like PRN that was planned and imple- mented in uncountable nights that the members spent together, partying. Prana was very elite, but from the beginning was a kind of competitive confidence and elitousness around the group, that instead of being of some good to the group, only has helped to see what happens when you run an invite-only group w/out being near the ascii-scene at the same time. And what is being near the ascii scene? Definitely: running the group's channel on IRC, 24hs a day, 7 days per week... or having a bulletin board system for supporting ir or/ and functioning as a group... but there wasn't a #prana... it just never existed... never.. and that's (maybe) why the group never progressed nor grew. I've left my motherland in november of the year 2000, from that season that I haven't seen TR5, Arl, Dark-d or Dark-s, anymore. I went to North America, then I went to Europe (to be precise: To Barcelona in Catalonia this for those who think that I'm in the U.K, because of the .nfo of ReMoRSe-42). In Barcelona I stood some months, and then I have bought my ticket to India. I came to India three years before, I'm settled in India now and with mires to stay in it more time, the time it takes for me to get a MCA degree. The point is that only after three years already here I could manage to buy me a PeeCee... So now, before deepening more in this deceased collective that is Prana, I prefer to dissol- ve it. I will tell you how I managed to release the five packs I've released in India w/out the PC: I've done them at school and sometimes in the cyber-shoppes Yeah, sadly I've fell so low... because it was a very uneasy experience, finally, we have the proof with some or others of this packs, for example the pack number six... I think, in my life of almost ten years in the scene I've compiled or packed dozens of rele- ases for different groups, but I've never coded a pack so faulty as is T.P.E number six... it's so, so faulty that I'll request if you have it, please delete it. Inside this pack goes the fixed version of T.P.E. #6, please, take a look at it, and read its info file, it is updated with a new manifest about why the original #6 came out so full of errors... Other thing I want to express is how I see the ascii scene: in short: I think it's something greatly useful because I've meditated of it and discovered that it is useful for various ends. I will try to enumerate them in no particular order: the electronic underground art groups are, to my eyes, the principal think-tanks for the software entertainment industry... how many times you discover that this or that ascii-doode or hirez-girl and that ansi-chick and the other rip-guy have passed from being sceners to a life of study or work for the software entertainment industry, or even for the enter- tainment industry in general? As to say: cartoons, RPGs infantile books, toys, comics? I think very often... so it is a beautiful hobby to ge inspiration and support if you want to be a professional entertainer... it is a *good place to begin* if you want to become a professional entertainer... it's a good place to begin and I think that the experience can be really edifying... You're immersed in the fantastic, fabulous minds of all the persons with an artistic sensibility who are not only artists, but also consumers, and while they still are doing arts for free and in the underground, in the end they share, more or less, the same tastes for arts that others doing the same hobby have. So I think it's good for the kids and adolescents to "exist" in something like the scene, it's good to have a substantiation, a sense with the people that in the future may be your colleagues, public or competitors... But there are other reasons, I think the scene and the specific art you perform on it can teach you a lot, they can help you to learn aesthetics and you can deve- lop a style... so you can learn about style also.. when you begin to create digital arts, if you have been born an artist, you're going to discover it, because you are going to begin to live the artist's experiences although you are not going to be a mainstream artist like a sculp- tor, a painter or a poet... so I find this reasons, the most difficult to find, to this you've to add all the additional things that, also, you're going to receive from the scene; I enumerate, you think of it by yourself: *Free entertaining stuffs, *Help from others in designing whatever you want to design, *PalSHiP, *Friendship, *(even) Love, *A public ready to consume your arts, *Warez (If you are the type of those who trade your arts for shells) *Ca$h, *Parties, *A system to test the wanna-be's of possibility *Style, *Craftsmanship, but in my personal case the most useful feature of the scene I found is that it's a crite- rion where the aptitude of those who want to be entertai- ners is exposed. {I need to affix here the Corrigenda of the last pack, it's the vintage of typing errors of some of the textfiles of the last pack: Line / Error / Correction ------------------------------------ *(CRITIC-1.TXT) 57 "accdepts" read: accepts 58 "loosing" read: losing *(CRITIC-3.TXT) 6 "sorto" read: sort of 17 "elementa" read: elements *(CRITIC-4.TXT) 6 "endu- red" read: endured 9 "de" read: the 14 "wak" read: weak 24 "gril" read: girl 42 "t" read: [free space] * * * I want to take advantage of this infofile for remembering you this: DON'T NEGLECT THE TEXT-FILES in this pack, even the .NFO inside the zip of the remake of the #6. It is be- cause there is too much fact in the textfiles of this pack, I'll enumerate: first thing: my e-book of .LITs, titled Soft Ways of Fairness/Suaves Maneras de Equidad... this new english version is revised and it has the notes of the difficult words of it, minor changes in the "Notice" have been done and also in the punctuation of the poems. Then other files I wish you read is the reviews of my own poems for Circe/1997, this are the files CRITICA*.TXT for the spanish versions (the ones in this pack) and CRITIC-*.* the english versions (included in TPE/x #10). Here I'm seeing clearly all the errors that I've done in 1997 when I wasn't a poet like I am now... if you want the real thing, something I don't recommend you, just donwload the packs of Circe (CRC*.*) from thuglife.org (for instance) and then download the Prn/x #10 (if you speak only english) then read the reviews and take a look to the poems that are inside of the packs, they are 3, plus one that is inside of a colly. You will feel the lowness of that... Respecting the e-book: (SGK-SWF.LIT and SGK-SME.LIT) you can publish it if you dare, just remember it was con- ceived to be an e-book, of redressing something that had substance and was worth of singing about, but as I told, my skills in 1997 where minimal, only knowledge of poetry by reading it all the time, but no kind of knowledge on how to write it. I think the new poems compiled in the book are good but weird, besides, I know that for this kind of poems, so away of the main trends of modern poetry although they are also modern, for this specie of poem I can't think of keeping them for a bigger book of poetry w/mires to publish it commercially... they simply have the strain of the 1997 ones and inevitably aren't what I think can be 'marketable'... so if you think that you can print them and sell them in some fanzine, or if you think you can use them for some magazine or whatever other mean of publication: well.. you can, *BUT PLEASE, CONTACT ME BEFORE DOING IT* I want to receive a copy of whatever product you do using them =] Other files worth of seeing them are the "Apologies Manifesto" (SGK-AMEN.TXT) where I explain things very personal as how was my mental condition when I was in .AR, and the other file is the "Silaz Self-Interview" (SGK-SSI.TXT). This file is an ex- planation of who I am and what I've been up to for the las 3 years, I am of the type who thinks that sharing personal mat- ters in the scene is lacking decorum, but this is a different case, I AM KILLING THE PRANA EXPRESS, you deserve to know more about myself. And you are going to find also flames for some persons who deserve it and, pertaining this suckers, apologies for the persons who could think, that after I went to the US, joined Remorse1981 and completed an ascii collection for R81, that I have lost sense because of the ppl that nobody likes anymore in the scene and I continued greeting, sorry about this and read the Self Interview for a detailed understanding of what I am telling. Then... there's other two more .lits: one is a western haiku, (The specie of haiku made with the western-haiku method in- vented by the Franco-American writer Jack Kerouac), the last, since this is the last Prana Express, then there's the trans- lation of a poems that I wrote one day of the late nineties that was a cute poem although, as I said before: in the last millenium I wasn't a poet like I'm now, but this poem, never- theless, is cute, take a look at it (SGK-TD.LIT). Then, that's all the end of Prana!Ascii and the beginning of a new phase in my life: When I was about to begin travelling I have quitted the AsciiCollection format, that was three years before, now I have PC again, probably I will do collections again, and probably you'll see my asciis in the Remorse releases too, so stay tuned.
