This month looked great! Alot of quality activity creating quality peices. This month has proven, once again, the stability and dedication that the members of Purg have for their chosen medium. -//- Administration Update -//- Not much new in the way of Administration. As said at the release of Purg #29, this month we strongly inforced our deadline of the 27th of each month. This does not imply that you must produce MONTHLY by the above said date. It simply implies that you MUST have any completed and pack intended works turned in by that date in order for them to be included in that months release. This helps in releasing quality well packaged releases. -//- Release Information -//- Our 30th release is at hand. It has been 4 years and one month since the dawning of the Purg Era. August 1995, Purg was created, and thus, a family was born. Purg was not intended to be an aCid competitor, but to draw, to draw. There have been many groups created and abandoned in the time that Purg has been alive. There have not been an extensive amount of groups to make it to Release #30. It has been a long sometimes painful road to where we are today. Many people have said crude and vile things about Purg and its status in the scene. Think what you will, we enjoy drawing and that is why we're here. We aren't here to please everyone, but to please our artistic 'monkey on our back'. Some people have been most helpful in Purg's struggle for survival. I know I've missed alot of people, but you know who you are, and you know that your support has meant alot to Purg has a family. Now you must ask yourself, is this the end, now? Is it over? Are we going to stop drawing, stop releasing on the ANSi Medium? It is time to begin another era where the ANSi scene is where we spend our winter. people get so worried that the scene is dying. Yes, I can see that there are close to no groups, and almost no one draws anymore, but that is the way it has been almost every summer I have been in the scene. Sure, there have been times when the scene was thriving throughout the summer, but how often. Let fate take its course. Please enjoy our September works included in this, our October 1999 release. Hopefully, we will see Incwell and Jandor in full action come January 2000. -//- Work in Progress -//- Currently we have our coders wasting away in front of there screens working on a few projects. -- PURGDRAW -- That is correct. Purg is in the process, yes another process, of creating PURGDRAW! Features include: nick shading, theme support, built-in ANS/ASC support (so you can view artpacks without opening up a DOS window), and all sorts of stuff. The previous version of SunriseX (wasn't given a version, but I am now. It was sA-r1) was so lame I don't even know why I'm keeping its name for the official Purg script. Expect to see SunriseX sA-r2 up at pack #28 or #29.
