  things went smoothly once again this week, even though sinister 6000 wasn't
  there to advertise. =)  ...slightly fewer entries this week, but the quality
  is still amazing, and the smaller pack-size will come as a relief to many of
  you!

  we had a vga sweep this time around, with jpegs in all three top spots.
  as you'll see, they're all worthy winners.  close behind, tied for fourth,
  were goatboy, pike, and crixm/revolution.  props out to everyone, but
  especially to those who show up weekly, and improve their skills each time!

  on another happy note, we regained control of #blender.  seems like the
  folks who make the 3d rendering progam, "blender" were trying to move
  from #blender3d to #blender.  it's all sorted out now.  so..  whew.

  also, thanks to blackjack, for adding a blender mirror to his ftp site,
  ftp.mimic.ca.  those of you in north america will find it a faster place
  to download packs.  our original ftp site, however, will remain the only
  ftp site where you can upload and download individual entries during the
  compo.

  one more thing i'd like to add:  it's hot out, and my apartment smells like
  sewer gas.  pity me.

keetarunfinished, but it is
   a good start.

polygon line at the top.  the
tootface looks a little strange, but over-all,
a pretty strong entry.

ansi2asc (?)  - ansi2asc.ans (ansi) - hey, this isn't bad for
 five minutes!

crix madine (mimic)-   us-b2k.asc (ascii) - i love the font on this
revolution on.  reminds me of the
kind of asciis i wanted to do, but couldn't.
=)  good entry.

darkmoon  (ice) * 1 *-    tk&dm.jpg (vga) - ho. ly.  crap.  i can't
the knave  believe that this is the
     result of a 12 hour compo.
this is so detailed, so great.  all i can say
is wow.

fonebone (anemia) -    fb-ny.ans (ansi) - you've got a good idea
here, and the ansi gets
that idea across.  i'm impressed after a two-
year vacation.  welcome back. =)

funk-e (sodapop)   -  fe-cook.ans (ansi) - i've gotta say, even
after you explained this
to me, it's still pretty damn weird.

goatboy (sane)- go-angel.ans (ansi) -  this is an excellent
    smallscale, and it really
    looks like she's holding a heavy gun.  a job
well done.

napalm (cia) * 2 * - na-angel.jpg (vga) -  great angel pic, and the
background goes together
very well with it.  clever use of smoke (!)
and clever poetry as well. =)

nasone (?)- nas-bldr.asc (ascii) - haha, ran out of time
  with the new york font,
hm? =)  clever use of angel.

panacea (cia) * 3 *-  pn-b2k8.jpg (vga) - another slick looking vga.
i'm impressed with the
amount of time you spent on this.  better
check next conan o'brien show, whether they
have a WE-WILL.SUE. =)

pike (poffelipoff)   - pk!blnd7.rip (ripscrip) - the devil in this
    looks just awesome.
and a little bit of nudity never hurts
either. =)  the apple is a bit of a stretch,
  tho.  probably kept you from taking 3rd.

spitfire (?)-  newyork.asc (ascii) - haha, totally original
xzipuse of the words.  great
idea.  but.. rolonda?!! =)  ..i'm just
  waiting for one of you oldschool ascii guys

 i want to make clear, the point of the blender is to take the three given
 words, and create something about them.  using pre-created work is not the
 point of the blender.  any pre-created work will be disregarded when i
 judge the entries.  if i find out that you're trying to submit old work
 as something new, you'll be disqualified, and your group will lose any
 points that entry got you.

 the idea you submit may NOT be anything which might be of benefit to you if
 picked.  example: you run a board named 'extraterrestial mongolian earwax
 factory'.  the idea you submit can't be extraterrestial, mongolia, earwax, or
 factory.

 please do not name your files: blender.*, blender2.*, us-blend.*, or
 any variations of those filenames.

 all entries must be submitted with the file ENTRY.FRM, filled out with your
 information.  it just makes it easier to keep track of people.  to get the
 file, type !form during the competition, or get it in the RULES section of
 our webpage, any time.  once you're ready to submit, fill out the form,
 and zip that and your entry into a file called yournick.ZIP.

 you may submit any number of files, but they must not exceed 150k zipped,
 with the entry form.

 the files you submit may be anything.  ascii, ansi, gif, s3m, lit, rip, etc.

 joints are allowed, with up to 3 people on a team.  why?  to make things
 generally more fair, and to make judging easier for us.

 your masterpiece can be a board ad, or a logo.  it can be anything.  it can
 even be a config.sys file.

 you can submit entries any time during the compo.  if one of the judges is
 on irc, you can dcc it to us.  you can also use our ftp site any time.
