The second ansi I ever made! Now, just a few words on ascii vs ansi.. Ansi is easier than ascii. Plain and simple. When you draw an ansi, you have about 6 different blocks to choose from when you shape it. In ascii, you have to choose from about 255 different characters. So a top ascii font artist like polymorph or discyple could probably shape their stuff better than a top ansi font artist like vade9. That's probably why I was able to draw something like this in Ansi on my second try (it's not great, but it's not horrible either). When I converted it to ascii however, the lack of detail was startling. In fact, I'd say this is a pretty shitty ascii pic against my normal standards. the only thing that gives ansi the edge is the use of those 3 blocks °±² and the color combinations that can be done with them. Other than that, I'd bet money that 90% of the "top" ansi pic artists could not do a good ascii pic. On the other hand, if someone like black jack or dead soul were to try ansi, I'm pretty sure that they'd catch on pretty damn quick (hint, we're not talking about fonts here *coughblackjackcough*). So, my point is, ascii is the next level of art because of all its limitations that can be used conversely as tools to create better art. btw, please use remorse view to view this.. for some strange reason acidview and a few other ansi-viewing programs always change the shape of the "›››" and the "YYY" when you view ascii. Go ahead, compare and you'll see what I mean. wow, most of you probably didnt even bother to look at that. you probably just looked at the pic, said "oh, that sucks" and went on. well you suck. =) -The Upright Man SAUCE00For The Riddler The Upright Man ACiD Productions 19970910[)Pi
