Such token things our love surpassed, but worst - the rings would longer last. We needed no golden token, nor a promise to be broken, no record of confirmation of our sweet love's destination I'd smell your breath and taste your lips. You'd guide my hands around your hips and almost could I love again; and almost could I pass the pain. I'd see the need there in your eyes. Your touch confirmed what words belied. But not quite could I be set free. But not quite could my own heart see. Reality'd grow blurred and dim; You her would be as I would him. I'd hold you tight and hear your heart. Through skin alone we'd be apart. For though our bodies meld as one, our souls defy what we've begun. Our spirits soar on different planes, seeking what we'll never find again. I can't forget, so can't proceed - we've split because of common need. I hear your voice and see your face but now they're simply commonplace. Held captive by our menories, On this, at least, we do agree. Tis sad our love left not a trace, for now it's only commonplace. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- REGRETS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This has been a long time coming, and I know it's way past due But my soul fills with an aching grief each time I think of you I'd like to think that I was not wrong, or be certain I'd made the right choice I'd like to place the blame elsewhere, but mine was the only voice If things had just been different, if I'd known what I know now If I'd had a different perspective, I could have changed everything somehow I'd beg you to forgive me but that couldn't alter history Some decisions are irreversible and amends can never be Some things can never be undone, no matter how hard we try And all I can say to you right now, as I wipe a tear from my eye Is I know not if I was right or wrong, we were both victims of circumstance But I need to say that I'm sorry, for I never gave you a chance -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FREEDOM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unleash your spirit, cast your doubts away, throw back the chains that bind you Seek out adventures and days of bliss, keep your memories to remind you Of times when the world overwhelmed you and days when your life seemed so bleak And know that this newfound freedom will lead you to all that you seek -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SIMPLE THINGS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I fill up the car, check the oil and the tires Go stand in the lines when the sticker expires I take out the trash, fix the leaks, cut the grass Wait patiently until your grumpy moods pass I vacuum, I sweep, scrub the sink and the tub After a hard day at work, I give you a good back-rub I watch all your games on our tv set I do all the shopping, take the dog to the vet I work every day, always put the lid down I never ignore you when my friends come around I pick up my socks and my empty beer cans What more can you want from a poor, simple man ? I cook, do the dishes and then put them away I do laundry and remind you of your mother's birthday Whenever you need me, I'm right here for you What more can a poor, simple woman do ? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cougar ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From the depths of Hades she struggled climbing steadily along her way Meeting each challenge before her new barriers with each passing day Allowing no one to divert her her destination clear Imposing her presence, demanding her due for at last the Cougar is here... This one is for Sprite... I wish both you and Cougar the very best and I look forward to future collaborations :) Thanks, Sprite, for allowing me to probe the soul behind the facade... As they say - one picture is worth a thousand words... look for Sprite's rendition of the Cougar in the July '97 iCE pack.... -----------------------------------M--------------------------------------------lady-i s-blue -----------------------------------T-------------------------------------------- SAUCE00First lit colly Lady Blue MiSTiGRiS 19970714?"P
