Axel Gear :: Here is a list of the works in this package, and a comment about eac h. Each file is named after the group it came from (ACID-?.ANS = Acid Produc tions) Unfortunatly I couldn't find any of my work that I did Pre-1993, so its' not in here. Don't feel bad though, it's nothing too spectacular ----- STDIOX-1.ANS Programmed Illusions This work came from P-Chan of Ice's early group, Studio-X. This is an example of how simple my work was from 1992-1993. I really enjoyed drawing ansi and I didn't care who I drew the ansi for. Like I even knew Neurotic... PRO-1.ANSThe Coliseum Pro was the last local 619 (San Diego, California) art group I was in (We merged with Shiver in 1994). By this time I had the basic shapes down, I just couldn't shade them or do anything too creative with them. SHIVER-1.ANS Huma This was my first large pic that people really liked. It got many good reviews and kind of made me enthusiastic because of the recognition I was starting to get. SHIVER-2.ANS Digital Armageddon I don't think this one ever made it by Shiver's new quality control policy. Looking at it now I have to say that I still think that font is rather intresting. SHIVER-3.ANS Delusions Of Grandeur This was a comic book rip. I don't use comic books as influences anymore, however when this was made it was quite common to copy pictures out of a book. I do like the way the armor turns red at the bottom of the helmet (I added that). SHIVER-4.ANS Steel Empire One of my best pictures for Shiver Productions. A comic book rip (sigh) for my short lived Oblivion/2 Board. I got alot of praise for this one, which was nice because I spent some time on it. I hate the way I did the stars, but I love that huge gun that Dave Johnson drew. BLEACH-1.ANS Huma This was an attempt to do something sort of cartoony. It's a chick with a gun. BLEACH-2.ANS Tide Electronic Magazine This really, really sucks... but it's cute. Tide was going to be the offical magazine of Bleach, but never reached issue one. The ansi is in black and white because it's bleached. (get it?) BLEACH-3.ANS Mist God, I'm kicking myself for all the comic rips I used to do. This is one of the better ones, though. It was taken from Spawn Bloodfeud and the first issue of Spawn. I think that bloody hand looks neat, but the shading is terrible on the face. BLEACH-4.ANS The Gas Chamber This was a very, very, very early concept design for Ronin, the main character of my book, Neverworld. Since this ansi he has become a darker looking character dressed in black leather and steel armour. I expect to be done with the book by Summer 1997 (finally). I was a stupid punk when I drew this so that's why there are references to Bad Religon and Nofx in the greets section. SOLO-1.ANSCathedral When Bleach died I released a solo pack with some small ansis. After Steel Empire went down I was going to set it back up as Cathedral, but never did. SOLO-2.ANSThe Gas Chamber I still like this face, especially the fold from his nose to his mouth. The nose sucks though, but it's still a decent ansi. SOLO-3.ANSThe Gas Chamber Another font for The Gas Chamber. I think The Silent Killer was going to give me some RAM for all these ansis but never did . SOLO-4.ANSRest In Peace This was my favorite solo ansi. It's an original pose of Spawn flying down from a building or something. The shading was okay, but the shapes are what make it a pretty good ansi for the time. SOLO-5.ANSKruel Magazine Kruel was an obnoxious magazine in 619 that talked about pornography, drugs, hacking, etc. God, I loved it . SOLO-6.BINAcid Productions 1995 This is the only binary I have ever released. The face came from an old Shiver ansi that was quality controlled. I later used this work to get into Acid Productions . ODIUM-1.ANSE Three Two Oh boy, did I recieve complaints about this one. This was before the whole sexual revolution of perverted ansis appeared on the art scene. Alot of people thought it was unexusable to show Santa Claus buttfucking a girl. ODIUM-2.ANSRoute Six Six Six This was done for the Route 666 that Lord Jazz ran, not Angel of Hell. BLADE-1.ANSDowntown Militarized Zone I stopped drawing for a while then debuted with Blade with this work. I like the way the blood looks, and the guy's open mouth. Yes, I know this ansi bashes both Maytrickz and Radman. This was a while ago when I wasn't particularly fond of Maytrickz, and didn't like Acid. So what I said in this ansi shouldn't be held against me today . BLADE-2.ANSBeyond The Horizon This came from a Shiver ansi i never released. I just touched it up and released it. The face was obviously influenced by Diehard, the Image Comics character. BLADE-3.ANSEcchs A font for X, the mIRC add-on script. BLADE-4.S3MRonin Before Neverworld was called Neverworld, I had titled my book, Ronin. This was a very early attempt at tracking I did for the Blade music division. The slides and panning need alot o f work, as do the guitars, but I really didn't know a whole lot about tracking at that time. However, I do like track nineteen on this song. BLADE-5.S3MGuiltar Another guitar piece I released with Blade, I had improved a little by this time, but not much . ACID-1.ANSAdmiral's Wharf My first picture for Acid Productions. I had to submit this five times before I passed Acid's rigourous quality control. The guy in the middle is Superpatriot, created by Erik Larsen. I hate that fucking cigarette in the first guy's mouth. Th e font sucks too. ACID-2.ANSRawor An intresting font I did for Yakuza's IRC script. The colors are pretty nice and that little face is funny looking. Had I done it today I would shade it alot more. ACID-3.ANSDiscordia An obvious Lord Jazz influence here. ACID-4.ANSThe Gub Mint A joint I did with Lord Jazz for the fiftieth Acid Acquisition. This was one of the last comic book type characters I ever drew, but the Acid font still looks as good today as it did two years ago. Pushead never payed us like he said he would. ACID-5.ANSThe Gas Chamber This is when I started to get into darker tones. I forgot that I did so many ansis for this board. ACID-6.ANSBunk Not to brag, but this font was considered one of the best in the fiftieth Acid Acquisition by several people. I somewhat disagree, but the shading is pretty good on it. ACID-7.ANSAcid Productions 1996 My final Acid Ansi, for the Star Wars themed Acquisition. I started doing darker ansis at this time, which has continued on to today. That top character is IG-88 from The Empire Strikes Back. I slaved for hours trying to make Boba Fett as realistic as I could from memory. FIRE-1.ANSBlack Thursday While this ansi was in color, it still used darker tones and values. All my ansis were original works by this time. They took longer, but were more satisfying. I like the cyborg's eyepiece. FIRE-2.ANSImpure Here's a font I never released, until now. I did it wh ile in Fire so that's why I put it here. FIRE-3.ANSGoo A sad ansi. Sad because I want to kill Black Snowman (B5) after this. When pressed about the money and shell accounts he owed me for this ansi, his response was "fuck off". FIRE-4.ANSRoute Six Six Six A colorful font for Angel Of Hell's board. I kinda like the way some letters leave shadows on the others. FIRE-5.ANSLife Of Agony A crappy font for the group that never was. FIRE-6.ANS Clear Another promotional for a group called Clear, which I never saw a release from. This one was fun to draw though . BLNDER-1.ANS The Blender This should not be considered a real attempt to draw ansi. It was a quick little thingy for the blender (words that week were the guardian, china, penguin, smoking). It didn't win for obvious reasons. DENIZN-1.ANS Chalkboard This was done for Private Parts' ansi editor, Chalkboard. It was a patch-up job. Most of the stuff in this ansi were taken from scraps I never released. Many people don't like my Neo-Oldschoo l style I've been doing recently, but I enjoy it and thats what matters. DENIZN-2.ANS Chalkboard A colorful joint I did with Ironghost of Cia. He did the pic, I did the font. 7YNIVF-1.S3M Biomate I released this one while in Acid for Lord Jazz's tracking group, Fuck Vinyl aka 7YNIVf (Fuck Vinyl is now the offical music division of Denizen). It was pretty good, and happy sounding. That guitar sample could be mis-understood as a bag pipe though... 7YNIVF-2.IT The Return To Heaven I think I was angry or in a bad mood while writing parts of this. This was my first release using Impulse Tracker. It is somewhat gothic in some ways. Decide for yourself, alot of people thought it was pretty good... and some didn't . ----- SAUCE00Axel Gear : Descriptions Akairo Denizen Industries 19970419`*P7
