AXiS - A Xanthous Inventive Symptom

We setup AXiS at 1st of JULY, after working hard in
the last whole month, we can finally make our first
art pack! ;) Since some members were joined very
lately last month, they didn't have enough time to
draw any ansi for us in pack #1, but i can sure that
in the next pack, we will have much more ansi inside
the pack! :)


Someone asked me why i have to setup AXiS. Well, i
feel that hong kong's ansi level is always too low,
if i can gather the best ansi artist in hong kong,
and then help every network and bbs to draw ansi,
then the ansi level in hong kong will be much better.
moreover, if we can be recongnized in hong kong's
bbs world, i believe that more and more people will
start drawing better ansi. ;>


There's always a big distance between hong kong and
US ansi styles. What's the difference? Firstly, it's
quite obvious in the style of words drawing. In hk,
sysops want ansi which have 99% visibility, but only
1% beauty is enough. but in US, i believe that an
ansi having 99% beauty but 1% visiblity can still be
very very good in US's eyes. This is surely one of
the most important factor which stop hk's ansi growth.
Of course, there are some other factors, for eg,
sysops in hk like to modify the ansi found inside
ice or acid pack for their own use. Since the graphics
inside those pack is the best in the world, so why
will they bother the garbage ansi drawn by the local
artist (when compare with the US ones)?


After being an ansi artist for a whole year, what i
can tell from hk's bbs world is that, ANSi artist is
NOT being respected at all. If you really want to
lower down the ansi quality in hong kong, then just
keep on treating us like that please. :~(

have agreed to join us. :D "He is superb in colour

We've waited for a long long time, and finally, GrApE
in AXeS made a viewer for us! Wow! We've got our OWN
viewer finally! ;) The current version of AXiSView is
not completed yet, coz it still lacks a mode - 320x200.
I believe that GrApE can give us the completed version
within this month, coz his programming speed is very
high! :O
