3C 273 was officially formed in late March. 

Erratic is hard at work on the small viewer tha
t will be included with 
every disk release. It's secret code name is "kitty
 litter"... be on the look
out if you want a small viewer that isn't all that 
complicated. 

Nootropic is currently finishing up his first d
isk, set to be released
before the end of april. 

There has been some joining going on. Armageddo
n Donut, Corpulent Cow, 
Erratic, Krash, and Hennifer have joined 
since the 5th of April. 

Hennifer says he's got a disk in production... 
Expect it out within
three months. (has to juggle septic, ya know?)..

I've been formulating a "plan of attack"... We'
re gonna focus on the 
ansi scene for the first few months, and then expan
d into the music world. In 
addition, I've been wanting to clarify the entire "
pack/disk" thing that's 
going on. 

Some artists like releasing with other people..
 you can do that with 3C
as well. There is basically no difference.. you jus
t talk with some members, 
put together a pack, and there it is... or, you can
 just do what you like, 
shooting off on your own tangent, and stuff like th
at.. the essence of this 
group is FREEDOM.. just 'memba that :) 

Other thing: we don't JUST release ansi. Myself
, I work with a variety
of releaseable mediums and projects. I'll be releas
ing the odd mod, some lit, a
few tutorials, rips, vgas, perhaps little pieces of
 code.. all kinds of things.
I'd guess other members would too :) 

3C 273 welcomes flame with zest. Two whole pack
ages of the stuff.

This is what 3C 273 is about: 

1) Freedom for the artist.
 
- No deadlines for release. 
- Absolutely no pestering, bugging, whatever, 
whether it is 
with group members (releasing, etc) or non-gro
up members
(recruitment, etc). 
- No Quality-Control. If you make it into this
 group, you're
good enough to release whatever you like. 

2) Releasing with new formats that focus on the
 artist, not the group,
           and provide a significantly lower chance
 of fuckups. 

- There is no set format for release
. ie, we are not -just- a
disk releasing group. If any members want to g
et together
  and organize a pack, that's perfectly spiff.
 On the other
  hand, I fully support the disk format. So ag
ain, everything
  is up to the artist. 
- Disk releases are handled by Nootropic. An u
pdated Info File
will be included with each release. Merely sen
d the files you
wish to release to Nootropic. 
- Please include some substance to your releas
e! ie, 1 or 2 picsand some fonts w
hen it comes to art! Or more! Whatever.. :)

3) Maintaining the highest level of quality in 
the field of fresh and
unique art/music ideas. 

- This does not mean we only accept "original"
 artists! 
Anyone with a unique style and a certain degre
e of quality in
  their productions is welcome.

        File naming (archives) goes as such:

                3Cx-yyzz.ZIP

        3C is the group, x is the last digit of the
 year (6, 7, 8, etc), yy is
the creator's abbreviation (nt, kr, tx, etc), and z
z is the # of the release,
for the individual.

        File naming (art/music) goes as such:

                xx-yyyyy.zzz

        xx stands for the artist's abbreviation, yy
yyy is a 5 letter descriptionof the piece, and zz
z is the file format (s3m, ans, xm, etc..)

 "packs". Ie, here's a 
scenario...

Mr. Phat draws some ansis. They look cool, they
're spiff. He has two
pics, and about 10 fonts all ready to release. So h
e hands 'em to Nootropic, 
who slaps in a current info file, and a file_id.diz
. It's zipped, and released.

So, no month-long waits, pack delays, or FUCK U
PS. I've had too many 
fuck ups happen to me... this is the solution. No p
utting beta's in, no 
forgotten ansis, no garbled pieces, no EXTRA ansis,
 etc. 

Another example: Mr. Phat starts talking with s
ome friends of his 
within the group. Him and these people organize a s
mall pack with their 
collective works.. same procedure as above.. things
 are put together, released, and everything is ph
unkay. 

Anyways, that's just for art... for music, it's
 the same old same old. 
Add some news, the diz, and zip it... blah!$# :)
