innocence

a child looks up at his mothers pain filled eyes and asks
'why did daddy do it? didn't he love me and you?'
and she replies as calmly as she can 'daddy felt that things would be 
better without him here, and yes. he loved us with all of his heart'
'i will miss him' crys the saddened child
'i too will miss him, we all will' as she too begins to cry while
masking the truth to protect the childs innocence
the truth is daddy didn't care about either of them
daddy had lost his soul to the night that
his bastard child was concieved
one night of sin for a eternity of hell
but in daddys mind it was all worth it
to have the one he loved, or so he thought
as time passed it was all to clear 
that he had sealed his fate that night of 
lost innocence...
