X 賞 賞 旼컴컴탠컴컴컴컴컴컴컴커 � A Message From Patch � 읕컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴탠켸 Ya know, I have walked these halls plenty of times over and over again, and it should be that I know every area, however there is always somewhere that I hadn't seen before, and stop to look at it for a while. I study it, learn how it moves, acts and operates, and more importantly, learn from it. I grin a sly grin and walk on, seeking more knowledge and friendships. Hearing my footsteps echoing ring loudly in my ears, I stop for a moment and realize I am alone, even though I learn and meet new people, I am still utterly alone. Raising my hands and whispering a few words I cast a spell to illuminate permanently the sides of these halls, and I see etchings of people. From what I can tell they are Gods, and I am in awe. I think that I need to expand the knowledge of these unseen pieces of art. Again I raise my hands, utter words from my mouth that are uncomprehendable from other languages, and appears a form beside me. A human form with the same interests and aspects as me. I introduce myself, and share my fate with this new person. We walk along the halls some more, now the echoing is multiplied, but still we are alone. We come across more information, and a realization in our destiny. Facing towards each other we grasp wrists, completing a magical circuit that surges from both of us. The magic of knowledge, and the pursuit to expand and share it. A magic that is so unique, few behold it, less keep it and utilize it. We know we are the chosen! A blinding light surrounds us, the light slowly takes form, slowly to human form. As the light images begin to appear they also seem to grasp hands, to help the energy become stronger. Some appear, but soon turn black and fade away. Others grow stronger, and become a conduit in the necromantic energies that are flowing through this seemly endless loop of energy. Soon the light forms take human form, others are stronger and illuminate more than others. Few sparks form on the ground by our feet, and we treat them as siblings, nurturing them to adolescence, then on to adult hood where they to can be one of the few. Human forms, completing the circle, some would say it is destiny, others call it fate, we prefer to call it a calling, a calling to be handpicked, matured and taught to be proud, to be unique, to be WEAPONX! We stand set in our ways, make no moves as the winds of temptation and slander blow around us. Together, united we are untouchable. The winds soon begin to sway away, but it still remains, tempting to blow one of the few down, make them tainted in their ways. If it works, then the dark side has won, and has taken one of the few, one of the purists! Most times they do not succeed, and we shine further! Slowly our shine consumes all the halls, and we realize we cannot be separated! One way or another, we are all connected, no matter which direction a funny thing called life leads us, we will all be an X'er, till we die. But even then, we shall pass the candle on to another chosen! --Sorry, had to do it, Domino had stated when I asked if he was going to offer something for the newsletter that he cannot do stories, which inspired me to come up with something like what you just read. The next post, if the Nets don't mix them up, is one I started with RaGE, my first one with the program, and I got what would have taken me 15 minutes in the draw, done in 5 or six with RaGE. But I will say, this is after some minor TheDraw! modifications, but I am pleased with my feeble workings with RaGE. Oh, and whoever said RaGE requires no artistic talent, sheezsh! What have you been smoking??? People using Rage, that suck at Ansis are NOT going to come out making rockin' things right off the bat. I will say, I am afraid for it to get into publics hands cause we will be swamped with bad ansis. BUT!!! The good point?!?!?! No more ansi's composed ENTIRELY of TheDraw! fonts!!! YAY! Hehehehe. --- ``Robotech`` SolarNET #1 AT 3486 [Regarding this month's LOBO1.ANS] I love the picture. It has a nice air to it. I think it reminds me of the Joker from Batman. I am going to add it as one of my logon screens. I am going to extract it and add it to the random screen with the other screen I have. Happy Halloween! -*- 旼컴컴탠컴컴컴컴컴컴커 � A Message From Max � 읕컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴탠켸 It was funny. Patch was posting a message that said something to the effect of "Since WeaponX seems to dominate this sub..." I sat there reading that message thinking: "Heck, *EVERY* ANSI sub we post on actively we dominate!" There is not one ANSI group, not a single one, that is more active than WeaponX in my humble opinion (I didn't say "better than," I said "more active than," so put down your guns and fighting words). I really, honest-to-God, feel that way. Not because we're out there to impress anyone. Not because we're out there drawing to be /<-Rad. Not because we want to show off our shading 100% of the time. And definitely not to show how many "affils" we have. Heck, we don't even have an "I" to lowercase in our name! Nope, there's just one particular reason that everyone is seeing all these wonderful, individual, different ANSI images come up on your screens. We're drawing ANSIs for the fun of it. Nothing more, nothing less. It's a unique reason, it's a different reason, it's our motto (typed with Lion King going through my head). Now, don't get me wrong, I'm an ACiD fan, I'm an ICE fan, and those groups do some incredible work, there's no doubt about that, but are they doing it for the fun of it? You tell me, when you get charged for that ANSI you requested from them ;) What did I do this month? I sat down and drew some RIP images because I felt like doing them. They're not all comic book characters, and they may be nothing spectacular to you, but I had fun doing them. That's all that matters to me, and I'm sure that, for the most part, is all that matters to the other members of our clan. Hopefully down the line here, more individuals will learn that and want to tag the WeaponX name to their pieces for distribution with the monthly packs. Who knows. Perhaps no one will decide to join us. Perhaps we'll never see a new member to the group. Whatever the case, in all honesty, you can be sure that you'll continue to see whatever art pieces I've put together in these packs - for a long time. I'm sure that with all the different skills of all the different artists, programmers, and sound wizards in the group that we may definitely turn out something worth-while! So be watching for that in the near/distant future possibly! I myself have been getting a little more done lately and am glad to say I finally went through and cleaned out my mail-box here recently and have gotten back to all that have requested ANSI's or just e-mail'ed to say how they like the group's art!
