Ú-Äùùúú úúùù-Ä¿ ³ The "Unofficial" NBA Jam Guide ³ ³ By Colossus þ ViCE ³ ³ Revision 2 [03/13/94] ³ À-Äùùúú úúùù-ÄÙ Since everyone is in search of NBA Jam codes for the SNES or Genesis I figured I'd write up the codes for it. If you already don't know how to use the hidden characters then please read this section: Ú-Äùùúú úúùù-Ä¿ ³ Introduction ³ À-Äùùúú úúùù-ÄÙ Well welcome to the NBA Jam "Unofficial" Guide! I hope you find this guide the best around! Anyways lets get Jammin! Ú-Äùùúú úúùù-Ä¿ ³ Differences ³ À-Äùùúú úúùù-ÄÙ Whats different about the SNES & Genesis versions of NBA Jam? All together they're more or less the same. I've heard rumors that the Genesis version has a Battery Backup, which makes it much better (?). The main difference here is that the hidden character/cheat codes are different. Thus I can't release a "fully tested" guide b/c I don't have the Genesis version only the SNES one. Anyway, the initials for the players are probably all the same... Have fun! Ú-Äùùúú úúùù-Ä¿ ³ Whats New ³ À-Äùùúú úúùù-ÄÙ - Revision 1 þ First release [03/12/94] - Revision 2 þ Fixed up the Genesis "cheat" codes, added new rumors and made more greets :) Added "Whats New" Section, "Introduction" Section, and "Differences" Section Ú-Äùùúú úúùù-Ä¿ ³ How to use the hidden characters ³ À-Äùùúú úúùù-ÄÙ To use hidden characters you must enter the first 2 letters of the characters initials. You then must goto the 3rd initial and Enter the code given. For example if you wanted to play Air Dog, you would enter the letters AI And goto letter R you would then press L START and X, the stats for Air Dog (Wins, Losses, etc) should come up! Ú-Äùùúú úúùù-Ä¿ ³ Hidden characters ³ À-Äùùúú úúùù-ÄÙ This section includes all the TESTED characters for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Unfortunetly, I was NOT able to test the codes on the Sega Genesis, so please report back to me to make sure the codes work: AIR Dog -ÄÄÄÄ-Ä Air Dog is a 12 yr. old boy who I assume was a friend or child of an NBA Jam Staff member. He has alot of speed, and good dunks. Code: AIR SNES Key Punch: L START X Genesis Key Punch: START A Bill Clinton -ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ-Ä Bill Clinton is of course (if you've been living in a sewer for awhile) the President of the United States Of America. He is more or less a well rounded character, with good dunks, and good 3 pointer's. Code: ARK SNES Key Punch: L START X Genesis Key Punch: START A Kabuki -ÄÄÄ-Ä Kabuki maybe called someone else on the Genesis (at least thats what my friends say), I'm not sure, but on the Super Nintendo he is Kabuki. He was probably a staff member or friend of a staff member at Acclaim. Kabuki is also a well rounded character, and has ok dunks and ok 3 pointers Code: QB_ SNES Key Punch: L START X Genesis Key Punch: START ABC? (Either A, B, Or C) Turmell -ÄÄÄÄ-Ä Turmell is the designer of NBA Jam. He has all around good dunks Ok 3 Pointers, and is decently fast. Code: MJT SNES Key Punch: R START A Genesis Key Punch: START A Scruff -ÄÄÄ-- Scruff was probably also another member of Acclaim's staff. He's another "ok" character. Code: ROD SNES Key Punch: R START X Genesis Key Punch: START B Rivett -ÄÄÄ-Ä Rivett was probably also a staff member (boy are we getting repetitive?). I really haven't played him much, just expierment! :) Code: RJR SNES Key Punch: R START X Genesis Key Punch: START ABC? (One Of them) Di Vita -ÄÄÄÄ-Ä Di Vita was another staff member? who really knows, These descriptions really suck huh? Anyone wanna help me with them? :) Code: SAL SNES Key Punch: LR X Genesis Key Punch: START ABC? (One Of them) Al Gore -ÄÄÄÄ-Ä Ok here's a good description! :) Guess what? He's Our Vice-President! (0o0o0o0!) Well he is one of the better characters.. Good slams, decent 3 pointer's and he's pretty fast too. Funk -ÄÄÄÄ-Ä Well his clothing is weird as hell, but he's probably the best hidden character listed here! Code: DIS SNES Key Punch: L START A Genesis Key Punch: START C Warren Moon -ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ-Ä He's a football player... Haven't played him much. Code: UW_ SNES Key Punch: R START A Genesis Key Punch: START ABC? (One Of Them) Chow-Chow -ÄÄÄÄÄÄ-Ä Some staff member I assume. Code: CAR SNES Key Punch: LR X Genesis Key Punch: START C Ú-Äùùúú úúùù-Ä¿ ³ Special "Cheats" ³ À-Äùùúú úúùù-ÄÙ Super Defense: Press B four times during Matchup Screen and hold B the fifth till the tip off. Super Slams: Press any button 13 times while spinning the arrow keys after choosing team ... hold button 13th time after pressing till tip-off while spinning arrow keys Juice Mode: Press any button 13 times and hold B And X till tip off(during matchup screen) (B And C for Genesis) Power-Up Dunks: Press B 15 times during match-up screen Power-up Interception: Press B 16 times during match-up screen Power-Up Turbo: Press Y 3 Times, Press B 3 Times, Press A 3 Times, and hold Y,B,A till tipoff (during match-up screen)/ Any 5 buttons & B+C for Genesis Power-Up Shot % : Press A, And then hold down A+B During match-up screen hold till tip-off Always On Fire: Press B 7 Times Hold Up & BC Till Tip-off Anyone know the SNES version of this? Ú-Äùùúú úúùù-Ä¿ ³ Finding Hidden characters ³ À-Äùùúú úúùù-ÄÙ If you think you've got a hunch on initials for a hidden character here's how to "verify" it. Here's instructions for Genesis: Enter the first 2 initials for the character. Highlight the 3rd character and press either START + A/B/OR C. Repeat this process till you have tested A, B, And C SNES: Enter the first 2 initials for the character. Highlight the 3rd character and press either LR START + A/B/Y OR X. Repeat this process till you have tested A, B, Y, and X. If it worked then you may want to "simplify" the code by trying L START + Button you pressed that worked R START + Button you pressed that worked or LR + Button you pressed that worked. I'd appreciate it if you report any hidden characters you find :) Ú-Äùùúú úúùù-Ä¿ ³ Rumors ³ À-Äùùúú úúùù-ÄÙ Well I've recieved a TON of rumors, from 4 codes to SHAQ (that don't work) to codes for Snoop Doggy Dog and that he pisses on the rim! Here are some you might want to try: Air Jordon: Beat all 27 teams, after the credits enter MAJ as your initials, I suppose you'd have to try the combinations for like START A,B,C etc.... Here's another for Jordon: Beat Chicago 3 times: enter initials JJJ and expierment! SHAQ: Try RAP, SOS, SOX, or LSU Flea: SEX Santa?: SAC I've heard rumors about Cindy Crawford, Kathy Ireland, Wilt Chamberlaind(sp) Air Jordon, SHAQ, Magic Johnson, and many more... but have no rumored codes or working codes for them.
