He continues franticly,for the darkness
 pursues him like an evil hunter.Faceless, it th
reatens to swallow him,envelop him like a great beast.
Still he persists.H
e longs for a reprieve,some light to bathe him of this f
oul absence,but no, it's unforgiveness is maddening.
He panics, then pauses..."For
 I am surely the fool,the only thing as definite and unwaver
ing as darkness...is light!""
This awful night must end, will end,and give way to 
the life-giving day."Fear creeps over him once 
again, however,like the swarm of lightning bugs that teases h
im with their flittering.What if the day does n
ot come, the sun not rise?
What if the only thing that awaits this twisted world is e
ternal night?
Still he persists, but now his only thoughts are of impend
ing doom.
