Because of the loose structure, we aren't looking for any part icular type of board: may it be art, warez, music, programming, or an y other type of board, as long as you have good posters, and fre e space on your HD, we welcome you. All it takes is the complet ion of the application. Second, acceptance into MRi does not mean you are a  member for eternity. If at any point the other sysops feel that your boar d is no longer adequate, or has done too many stupid things, then y ou will be nuked, and must re-apply later. This is only to keep t he net in a shapely order, and is NOT meant as a tool of revenge.  The only way you can be kicked off is by a unanimous agreement amo ng the other sysops. Third, MRi is a Fido-compatible network. This means  that we comply with all standards set forth by the developers of the F ido standard. On a Fido-compatible network, you must make sure tha t your posters are aware of the ansi standards. We do allow the  use of system specific color codes (i.e. |xx, ^x, @xx, etc.) but i t MUST be known to all that ansis posted MUST be saved in the following format: 1) Line length of 69-71 characters 2) No 80th column characters 3) No animation If you stay within these guidelines, the pictures w ill be clear on all nodes, and will avoid garbagy messages from your system. I f there is a continuous flow of ansis saved incorrectly from you r board, then it may be grounds for expulsion from the net. Fourth, if your group would like a base to be sanct ioned by you, just ask. You must have at least three (3) boards from your gr oup already on the net, and a belief that good discussion will com e from the base. If you find this the case, then just let us kno w as soon as you are accepted, and the next echolist will include y our base. We are currently sanctioned by the following groups (som e with bases, some without) Alive - Apex - Radian - Relic - Rem - TSC - Union - UPA Finally, the application process is easy. Download  the latest nodelist from one of the above hubs or FREQ it from the WHQ (Packaged Rebellion). Fill out the enclosed application and send it to one of the hubs. The sysop will then post your application in a voting base, where you will be voted on. If you are accepted, you will be contacted via voice (or by other means) within a week. However, if you are rejecte d, you will not be contacted at all. Take note that sometimes it may take longer than a week, but usually not. There is no limi t to the number of times you can apply.
