T ime for the Monthly News Flash. Here's what's happening in Empire... þ Having abstained from extensive advertisin g in the month of November, we had hoped to show people that  we are not a group that needs advertisement. We also don't wa nt much advertisement. However, despite our efforts in abstaining fro m advertisement, we managed to impress a great many people.   You'll notice that this month's site listing is much longer  than last month's, and that's the reason. Having been swamped  with so many site requests, I have decided to put a restriction o n sites admitted to Empire. From now on, any application not me eting these restrictions (see member/site listing - MPIR1293. MEM) will be denied. If you weren't able to take advantage  of t his opportunity when it was available, all I can say is 'toug h luck'. We hope to still have applications coming in for the ar ea codes not covered so far, and we will be 'recruiting' such si tes that meet our requirements and are willing to support us. But,  by all means if you like the work, and you're running a board   meeting our new requirements, don't hesitate to apply if you'r e interested. We're confident you won't be let down. þ This month saw a wide-scale change of structure in  Empire. We've done our best to make it as subtle as possible so a s to not confuse any of you ;), but I'll sum it up in t he following words. Firstly, we moved our Western Capitol to Aft er Dark Club in Sacramento/916 which is run by Glenn Danzig/ACiD. Va lley of Death is now a Member State. We acquired a United States   Capitol - Mirror Image based in Houston/713 and run by Vapor/ACiD . We also acquired a Canadian Capitol - Gooey Kablooie'z Penguin  Pharm run by Shattered Mind. This month also brought the newes t artist to the group, Mainman. Mainman is especially talented  in the area of fonts. This month we also have four trial artist s: Crusher, The Fugitive, The Mesmerist, and Replay, and a new cou rier: Crusader. We added a few members to the advisory staff as we ll: Nighthawk joined as VGA Coordinator, Fallen Angel was promote d to Courier Coordinator, and Fluorescent Darkness was promoted to  Musical Coordinator. I'd like to take this time to say thanks  for Primordial Chowder for all his hard work for the group, and give some credit to Fallen Angel for his efforts as CC. þ Now I'd like to clear a few things up. Firstly, in the  Application Generator I made an error. The number to Valley  of Death is 408-251-6071, and it is NOT 408-251-0671 . I can imagine some old lady yelling 'THIS IS THE ELE VENTH TIME TODAY, WHAT IS A BBS!?', and I gotta remorse ov er that mistake. Next, last month we released a file called  QIXSS.ZIP. This file is a demo of an effect called s hadebobbing which was written by Daemos. The program say s it was coded by Gadianton, which is an old alias of Daemos. It  was not ripped at all, but it was not checked thorough ly before release and should have been changed and recompiled. þ EmpireNet has been under construction for a month  now. The preliminary node list is complete, containing all curre nt Empire sites. The net is still in its testing stages, but will  be prepared for wide-scale use in a few days to a few weeks. A ll sites are asked to call Falling Fast and mail Flick of the Swi tch to get set up if interested. This net is not  a requirement unless there is an artist dependi ng on your site. Also, when the net has been connected to the E mpire sites, EmpireNet will be accepting applications from Non-Empi re-Sites. If you like Empire, but cannot be a site due to our new  restrictions, this is your chance to keep in contact and is you r link to the current happenings in Empire. þ Premier Magazine is still under construction.  We have a demo slated for release in Late December/Early Jan uary. We are looking for VGA and ANSI talent to help out wi th the look of the magazine. We are also looking for writers and c oders to add depth to the magazine. This magazine is TOTALLY  art oriented. We plan to have only articles pertaining to a rt and scene news, as well as art from the various talented sma ller art groups. There is a tremendous effort being put into t his, and it will be great. If you want to become a part of an art  magazine, now is your chance. þ Empire is planning work on a demo. Work for this hasn 't yet started, but is being heavily considered and prepared for.
